Given the wonderful weather around here lately, we decided to pack a lunch and spend a day at the zoo. We spent a long time in the Lorikeet pavilion where dozens of birds are free to fly around as you walk through. We purchased nectar and the birds would come and sit on our hands to drink the nectar from the cup. At first Emily wouldn't go near the birds and got scared when they flew around her. After being there for a long time, she surprised us and fed the birds on her own! You should have seen her face....she LOVED it. We will definitely make time for this exhibit during future visits.
